Sworn To Secrecy - Review

"Sworn to Secrecy" by Tammie Clarke Gibbs is a captivating romance that is well deserving of a 5-star rating!

As you could probably have guessed by the books I have previously reviewed, I am a dystopian/thriller junkie; so romance is not usually my cup of tea.  However, "Sworn to Secrecy" broke all of my preconceived notions about the genre.  Gibbs builds a wildly creative story that spices up the typical romance by adding in a hint of time-travel to the mix.  But this time-travel element is not enough to push it into the science fiction genre, but is rather a brilliant way for us to fall in love with the characters.

Elizabeth has struck a deal with the man holding her father captive that if she gets rid of Dak, the Secret Service agent sniffing around town, Elizabeth's father will be freed.  In her effort to get rid of Dak, they unknowingly step through a time portal in a cave sending them into the future.  This future is such a strange place in comparison to their time, and filled with confusing people.  Who can they trust with their time-traveling secret.  Beyond that, who can help them get back to their own time to free Elizabeth's father?

I fell in love with this book within the first chapter and savored every page after that!  The story of Dak and Elizabeth is so sweet.  You will be on the edge of your seat until the very end with the perfect balance of romance and mystery.
